FINCA SAN JUAN

Around  the  winery,  located in the municipality of Tacoronte,  on the northern slopes of

Tenerife, we have planted our vineyard with the Vijariego Negro grape variety.

Facing west, with an average altitude of 330 metres above the Atlantic Ocean and covering an area of 2.5 hectares.

The volcanic soil, well-drained with a loamy clay structure, is perfect for producing quality red grapes.

This is where we planted our first Vijariego Negro vines and built the winery to produce wines that would enable us to retrace the path of the legendary Canary wines of times gone by.

Planted on original rootstock  (Canary is a phylloxera-free zone) in April 2013 from plants that we ourselves selected, the vine training method that we chose is the unilateral Cordon de Royat, and pruning is usually done at the end of February (depending on the weather conditions) by the Guyot system.
